    In 2020, The Tiverton Agricultural Impact Fund (TAIF) and Cleaner Climate Australia embarked on a journey of bringing Australian biodiversity protection into the mainstream. This collaboration resulted in the birthing of a Natural Capital Unit (NCU). A Natural Capital Unit is the intelligent coupling of a Verified Carbon Unit (VCU) with a Government certified Vegetation Unit. Each NCU encompasses the permanent and covenanted protection of 1m2 of Australian native habitat and the carbon offset equivalent of one-tonne of CO2. A NCU leverages the growing appetite for carbon neutrality and helps channel this momentum towards the protection of Australia’s rapidly diminishing endangered species.

The irrigated farm, located in Kyabram, Victoria, was previously a dairy farm and was acquired to manage the regeneration of soils and biodiversity. The farm has become a world class example of small scale, profitable farming integrated with biodiversity.
